Douglas Hotte is the Creative Director and Owner of Surroundings Floral Design in Toronto. Winner of WHERE Toronto magazine’s Best Florist Award, Douglas and Surroundings Floral Design are focused on creating a holistic environment through the greater innovation and inventive use of flowers.

Recently chosen by Four Seasons' Magazine as one of six designers in the world of "Climbing High" and as a "Who's who in the world of the floral elite" Douglas has earned his place by creating stunning arrangements and has this to say about his work: "I deliver sentiment,” he said, “ but my mission is to exceed customers creative expectations".

Douglas is a frequent contributor to FOOD AND DRINK, HOUSE AND HOME, GARDENING LIFE, CANADIAN LIVING, WHERE MAGAZINE and STYLE AT HOME. He has also appeared on such television shows as HOUSE AND HOME TELEVISION, CANADIAN LIVING TELEVISION and DINI.

Surroundings Floral Design is the chosen florist of Mirvish Productions and the National Ballet of Canada.

As a floral designer with over ten years experience, Douglas has conducted several private workshops in his studio as well as at the LCBO and the Princess of Wales Theatre. He also has done extensive styling work on packaging, catalogues and print advertising.

Douglas currently serves on the steering committee for Toronto Taste, an annual Toronto event to benefit Second Harvest. He also volunteers for Toronto's "Out of the Cold" programme.
